NASSCOM welcomes the proposals in the Union Budget 2020 (Budget) related to the integration of new emerging technologies like AI into all the key projects. If implemented right, this will have a huge impact on the acceleration of growth across sectors like health, manufacturing, agriculture etc. It lays down a robust plan for a strong foundation for India’s growth in the digital economy. We welcome the Government’s vision to catalyse data centres across the country and the announcements pertaining to Quantum Computing.
As an industry, we are extremely encouraged by the message sent out by the Government on the role of technology in India’s development and you have our full commitment to participate actively in ensuring the right implementation of these programs.
Over the last month, we have gathered feedback on the Budget announcements and reviewed the proposal in some detail. Based on this, we have submitted a detailed memorandum to Ministry of Finance highlighting our concerns and recommendations to strengthen the Budget proposals.
