Global Environment Report 2016/17: Our Best Initiatives

Blog: Capgemini CTO Blog

Our 2016/7 Group Environment Report, outlines the strategy and progress of our global environmental sustainability program in 2016 and showcases some of the best initiatives from across the Group.

During 2016 we have strengthened and accelerated our program. Firstly we developed ambitious new Group-wide environmental targets to reduce total carbon emissions per employee by 20% by 2020 and 30% by 2030. These have now been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, underlining the credibility of our approach and becoming one of the first in our sector to achieve this validation.

We also achieved a global ISO 14001 certificate for our Environmental Management System (EMS) a testament of the robustness of our environmental management approach and the strong capabilities of our Sustainability Center of Excellence.

We have made good progress towards our carbon reduction targets:

Country examples from around the group demonstrate how we are delivering our strategy:

This year has been a significant milestone in our environmental journey: our ambitious new targets – which are approved by the Science Based Initiative underline the credibility of our approach. And our group environmental management system ensures we will harness the capabilities across the group.  Our report highlights our performance and demonstrates our commitment to growing our business responsibly and sustainably.  For more info read the here or to engage with the team, please contact me, James Robey, VP, Global Head of Corporate Sustainability.
