Ta-da! Introducing ActiveMatrix BPM 4.0

Blog: The Tibco Blog

Ta-Da! Introducing the all-new TIBCO ActiveMatrix® BPM 4.0! The TIBCO BPM team has been very hard at work to bring you the next major release of ActiveMatrix® BPM, and it has arrived with a whole slew of new capabilities to help you digitalize your processes.

Traditionally, process automation has been all about standardizing processes and finding a single best practice to apply to the entire organization. Digitalized processes have evolved with the digital business to promote innovation and provide the ability to take advantage of business moments and transient opportunities. ActiveMatrix BPM 4.0 focuses on three main areas to help you evolve from just automating processes to process digitalization.

  1. Rapid, Low-Code Business Apps
  2. Enhanced Case Management
  3. Process Design Velocity

I am very happy to announce ActiveMatrix BPM’s new business app management framework. Low-code business apps are opportunistic, use case specific, and innovative in nature. They are meant to drive innovation through experimentation and take advantage of transient business moments. Sample template apps are provided for you to clone, reconfigure, or completely customize. Easily brand, theme, and localize your apps, while taking advantage of enterprise features such as single sign-on and analytics dashboards.

ActiveMatrix BPM 4.0 has continued to enhance our case management and contextual process capabilities with new capabilities such as a case management template app to be cloned, themed, or reconfigured.

The app also provides you with UI building blocks for case management to create your own custom and contextual case management UI.

Lastly, ActiveMatrix BPM 4.0 has focused on how to enable you to reach your digital destination faster. A variety of new features and capabilities have been introduced to help you on this journey.

You can now call REST services directly from your processes, which will become essential as you digitalize your processes to take advantage of more cloud and mobile apps and partners. ActiveMatrix BPM now provides inbound and outbound REST capabilities for your digitalized processes. For the less technically inclined in the audience, this is one of the best plain-English descriptions I have found for REST. Stay tuned for a follow-up blog on why getting your REST is so important.

By nature, REST services have unstructured and abstracted representations (data structures) associated with them. This does introduce some complexity, because of this a new graphical data mapping and transformation activity has been added specifically designed to visualize and make REST data more consumable to the average process designer. (It also has an incredible bonus of reducing the scripting necessary to implement a process by about 80%.)

ActiveMatrix BPM 4.0 has all sorts of other new goodies, features, and capabilities to explore.  We will be exploring several of them on The TIBCO Blog over the coming weeks, but if you want more information right now, head over to the brand new ActiveMatrix® BPM 4.0 site.
