Extremely Important Conference on Digital Transformation
Blog: AuraQuantic Blog
Yesterday a friend recommended a video of an informative conference on Digital Transformation in the Energy Sector, by Europa Press and Microsoft Madrid with participation from the senior management from several companies in the sector including Iberdrola, Gas Natural, Cepsa, Endesa and Acciona. I also strongly recommend this video.
In the video, Pilar López, President of Microsoft Spain (Technological Partner of AuraPortal) discusses the challenges facing all companies, from all countries, sectors and of all sizes due to the changes in consumer habits and the explosion of new technologies which are forcing companies to digitally transform.
After establishing the enormity of this business revolution, Pilar Lopez affirms that the same technology that has made these changes possible, can also be used by companies to capture the opportunities that arise from a digital change. Business Process Automation technology is one such technology, used to achieve process and operational transformation.
Carlos Escolíes, Residential Market Manager of Gas Natural Fenosa (a customer of AuraPortal) began by saying “We are at the start of a revolution that we have not yet quantified”. It involves the transformation of society and manages a vast amount of information circulating at stratospheric speed. He also made important comments on technology and the need for immediate developments to provide companies with the agility required.
However, although in this and other forums participants vehemently defend the need to implement technologies such as process automation, digital workstations and mobility, electronic documentation, big data, sensors and the Internet of Things (IoT), etc, they always do this individually. Let me explain. I have not heard it said (I’m not saying that it hasn’t been said but that I have not heard / read it) that these technologies should be integrated with each other and with the rest of company management to be truly effective.
It is certainly a breakthrough that sales reps can use their smartphones to check prices and delivery times and send an order from the same office as the customer, but this will not be enough.
These digital technologies must be integrated with the processes that manage all company areas including: Marketing, Customers, Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, Logistics, Payments, Technical Service, etc.
For example, using an e-commerce platform or digital device that isn’t instantly integrated with the Automated flows in the company’s supply chain would result in a loss of control, monitoring and analysis and could ultimately be the company’s greatest failure.
An effective solution is the digitalization strategy offered by AuraPortal which is based on the AuraPortal Helium intelligent Business Process Management Suite (iBPMS). This digital platform empowers digital thinking on all levels, from general management to the newest employee, including intermediaries and external collaborators. Furthermore it already includes all the necessary capabilities, for example:
1– Zero Code (real). The ability to create and modify the platform, processes and management complements without any programming, which creates a unique agility in the world of business management.
2– Platform for Information, Communication and Collaboration between Employees and with external parties.
3– Intelligent Business Process Management.
4– Immediate and selective Control and Analysis of company activity. This provides one true version of reality based on a holistic view of the company.
5– Document Management integrated in the processes with the automatic generation of all types of documents, intelligent virtual archiving, etc.
6– Integrated e-Commerce.
7– Others. Business Rules; Case Management; Effective and controlled process externalization; capture, organization and transmission of useful knowledge; Distributed Treatments; Agile application generation; etc.
