Use the Discovery Accelerator as a business strategy planning tool, or as a lightweight business architecture tool in the first step toward more detailed business architecture modeling. It helps you to discover and document the structure of your organization and how it actually works, and see how you perform against meaningful metrics. It can be used on its own, or combined with industry frameworks to accelerate the discovery process. The Discovery Accelerator broadens the audience for business architecture beyond that of IT-focused enterprise architecture tools, bringing architecture to the business. Business subject matter experts directly enter information about your organization, using simple collections of “who, what, when, where and why” based on text descriptions of business functions, plus value, quality, time and cost metrics. Templates including SIPOC, balanced scorecard and industry frameworks are also available as starting points for information gathering, and models from enterprise architecture and CASE tools can be imported and combined within the Digital Enterprise Graph to detect commonalities and connectedness between models. Conceptual models can be exported from the Discovery Accelerator in standard BPMN or CMMN format, becoming a starting point for behavioral modeling in the BPMN and CMMN Modelers.
