In the past decade, developments in business process management and workflow technologies have led to significant gains in business process efficiency and effectiveness through standardization, process design best practices and tools, and the use of advanced techniques for mining process logs and process discovery. In addition, electronically enabled business processes and business intelligence technologies have resulted in the collection of large amounts of data. Advancements in computational processing capabilities, in combination with the evolution of sophisticated predictive analytical tools and techniques has led to improved decision making and impacted several domains in the form of marketing analytics, web analytics, healthcare analytics to name a few. Business Processes and Analytics builds on insights and developments in the areas of Business Process Management (BPM) and analytics.
