BPMN Quick Guide for Windows

The BPMN Quick Guide for Windows is currently deprecated and it should be consulted online instead.

The BPMN 2.0 Quick Guide provides quick access to a listing of all BPMN 2.0 visual elements. A concise description for each element is available. You can navigate the guide by clicking on shapes or by using the table of content. You can also search for a particular term. A BPMN 2.0 glossary based on the specification document is also available within the quick guide.

This version for Windows will let you consult the BPMN Quick Guide right from your desktop.

    1. Hello Chris,

Once you have downloaded the .zip file you have to unzip its contents to your computer as a standard procedure. You can do so by using a software such as 7zip or WinRar. The zip file contains the actual BPMN Quick Guide for Window executable file, which once unzipped from the .zip file on your computer, can be opened by double-clicking on it which will open the BPMN Quick Guide.

      Hope this helps.

        1. Hello Juergen,

I mentioned the reason in another comment: “A .PDF file would of been too big to download and complex to use. The BPMN Quick Guide is grouped by BPMN shapes and has an index capability, for faster term searching, which would of been impossible to have with a .PDF file.

If you still find this option unsuitable for your needs, you can consult the BPMN Quick Guide online at any time via this direct link: http://www.bpmnquickguide.com/view-bpmn-quick-guide/

          Hope this helps.

    1. Hello Trevor,

Thank you for your feedback regarding the BPMN Quick Guide.

A .PDF file would of been too big to download and complex to use. The BPMN Quick Guide is grouped by BPMN shapes and has an index capability, for faster term searching, which would of been impossible to have with a .PDF file. I can assure you there is nothing wrong with the .exe file of the BPMN Quick Guide.

If you still find this option unsuitable for your needs, you can consult the BPMN Quick Guide online at any time via this direct link: http://www.bpmnquickguide.com/view-bpmn-quick-guide/

      Hope this helps.

  1. Hello,

is this document also as a .pdf available? Otherwise I can’t publish it in Confluence. I would get some trouble with IT Security if I would publish a .exe file 🙂
    Does somebody got an idea?

    Thanks in advance
    Konrad

  2. I downloaded the zip file and extracted the executable file; I run it and it opens the main page; the basics page has no images, and unfortunately, the TOC links do not work–once I click one the content pane goes blank. I’m using Windows 10, latest update; I’ve tried different compatibility mode settings to no avail. I’ll stick to the online version for now.

    1. Hello Hector,

      Thank you for you feedback.

It sounds like it’s an internet connectivity issue. Could you please make sure that you do not have any blockers regarding internet connectivity from application within your operating system to an outside source.

      Hope this helps.

  3. To me, it’s a great resource and very much appreciated. My goal is not to publish the BPMN guide, rather, to publish diagrams that are BPMN compliant. To make such diagrams compliant, I couldn’t ask for more (than a executable guide) and I’m amazed that the Guide Authors went to such an extent as to write such!

I really don’t understand the complaints. -I suspect that wanna-be authors of BPMN diagrams should be more focused (on writing diagrams) and have the needed computing skills to do such.

  4. I downloaded the BPMN Quick Guide, unzipped the file and got an executable. What shall I do with an executable in a secure environment?? I am working in a company with limited right for employees and very strict security restrictions.

    1. Hello Alexander,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

The executable is the BPMN Quick Guide. It does not install anything on your computer so you can run it even in a secure environment. If you have more questions regarding this, please contact our support team via the contact us page located here: https://www.businessprocessincubator.com/contact-us/

Alternatively, you can use the online version of the BPMN Quick Guide located here: http://www.bpmnquickguide.com/view-bpmn-quick-guide/

      Hope this helps.

  5. Given that we are all on different computers (windows, mac, linux) and process mapping really needs to be technology agnostic it would be really cool to develop a more portable version of the guide. Are there any plans for this?

  6. This is amazing!! I use it every day in my role as a BA.
Thank you for your work in putting this together!!
I can’t believe all the negativity… but hey not everyone has a sense of gratitude for other people sharing their hard work, again, thank you!!

  7. Thank you so much for this quick guide! It is lreally helpful and collected all the necessary information about BPMN in a very understandable way.

  8. Thank you!! This has been super helpful to refresh my memory and nice and concise. Definitely a resource I’ll be returning to time and again.
