Blog: The Tibco Blog
We want to congratulate Lewis Hamilton on his fifth FIA Formula One™ World Drivers’ Championship! This win makes Lewis the most decorated British driver in F1 history – an astonishing accomplishment. A huge congratulations to Lewis and to everyone who made this victory possible!
The Grand Prix race this weekend was definitely a nail-biter and as a partner of the team, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport, we are especially proud and honored to be part of the winning combination. Starting in the preseason, TIBCO has helped Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport drive innovation from a superior understanding and use of data.
With the help of TIBCO’s Connected Intelligence platform, data empowers the team to establish the best theoretical configuration and race strategy and becomes the common language for collaboration. Engineers are then able to communicate data results to the drivers during the race weekend.
TIBCO Spotfire makes it possible to visualize extremely complex data, easing the job of both analysts and strategists at the race and at the factory simultaneously. As a result, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport has achieved an insight-driven lead on their competition at all stages of the car’s life cycle, be it design, set-up, or during a race. The team can glean insights from TIBCO’s visualizations, or collaborate with TIBCO data scientists on advanced analytics, helping them make informed decisions.
We are very proud of what the Connected Intelligence platform has contributed to the championship credentials of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport and we are honored to have helped drive Lewis Hamilton to his fifth FIA Formula One™ World Drivers’ Championship. We look forward to many more victories together!
Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport also currently leads the Constructors’ Championship with 563 points, a 66-point lead over Ferrari. As a team, Mercedes-AMG Petronas has won 10 of the 18 races so far this season: Azerbaijan, Spain, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Singapore, Russia, and Japan.
