Version 5.0 GA Released

Blog: The Data Center

Last week we launched our General Availability release of Decisions 5.0. With the GA launch we have moved beyond the Beta stage and Version 5.0 is ready and recommended for production environments. Version 5.0 is the fastest, most heavily tested and feature rich version of Decisions we have ever released. To learn all about our new features and improvements I would highly encourage anyone interested to attend our upcoming webinar this Thursday, June 21st at 2pm EST. Our Founder & Chief Architect, Carl Hewitt will be walking through the new features and explaining their uses.

Some of these new features have already been highlighted in some recent webinars (while the product was in Beta testing) while some of these features are entirely new. To learn more about the features below or our products in general, please check out our webinars through the links or reach out to us at sales@decisions.com.

Business Flows

Business flows allow you to collapse an entire flow into a single step. This allows you to create re-usable flows that a less-trained user could utilize to build common workflows or patterns. Common use cases are creating plant-floor operation correction action step procedures.

Matrix Rule Editor

Our matrix rule editor is similar to our truth table, except that the output of the rule is the intersection of a row and a column. Common use cases here include pricing rules or product configurators.

Responsive Forms

Ok, we admit it. We were a bit hung up on this one for a while. We felt it was so quick and easy to build great looking mobile forms using our vertical and horizontal stacks that we pushed back a little too hard on this request. Our form builder can now create fully responsive forms for both desktop and mobile experiences and will still allow for an optimized experience on each device type if desired.

Case Management Editor

We are really excited about this new feature. Decisions has always excelled at managing unpredictable processes and has now added an easy to use design tool to assist in creating them. Simply setup your expected states (various steps of a help ticket for example), define the various actions that could be taken at each state, and you’ve just created a process for managing an unpredictable process.

End User Portal Refresh

With release 5.0, our end user portal has undergone the biggest “refresh” in our product’s history. The Decisions platform had kept a consistent look and feel through a number of iterations and was due for a bit of a facelift. Everything from the navigation tree structure to the portal skin has been upgraded and will allow for a lot more customization. So, if you’ve always wanted to get more creative with your portal design, release 5.0 has the tools to do so.

Finally, if you are interested in a free trial of Version 5.0 you can download a trial version here, or request a cloud trial and we will set you up a cloud trial within a day. We look forward to talking to you soon.
