TIBCO Upgrades Spotfire for AWS, Enhancing Customization and R Capabilities for Advanced Analytics

Today, we are excited to announce a new version of TIBCO Spotfire analytics platform for AWS Marketplace. This version delivers enhanced capabilities for adding advanced analytics to your Spotfire analyses, and enables Spotfire for AWS users to extend, customize, and rebrand their Spotfire instances.

New features include:

• An update of the embedded TIBCO Enterprise Runtime for R (TERR) engine to version 4.1 (from TERR 3.2), which features much greater compatibility with thousands of R packages from the CRAN repository, import and export of many new file types including SAS and Excel files, and expanded compatibility with big data frameworks and Javascript visualizations. These capabilities are now available in data functions and expressions functions in Spotfire, enabling customers to enhance their analyses with the power of the R language. • Spotfire Developer is now included in Spotfire for AWS. This allows users to customize the Spotfire platform, and includes a set of application programming interfaces (APIs) for configuring and automating the platform, as well as extending it with your own custom capabilities. This will enable Spotfire for AWS customers to more fully tailor their Spotfire instances to the needs of their community of users. • Many incremental fixes and enhancements based on customer feedback. See the Spotfire Hotfix site for a full list of these updates.

We recommend customers upgrade to the latest version of Spotfire for AWS to take advantage of these enhancements.

• For existing instances of TIBCO Spotfire analytics platform for AWS Marketplace, we recommend applying the latest hotfix (currently HF-013), which is available on the TIBCO Support site.
• Any new instances of TIBCO Spotfire analytics platform for AWS Marketplace will automatically include the 7.0.2 update 1 version of the software.
