TIBCO Cloud Integration is at the Intersection of Two Integration Roads
Blog: The Tibco Blog
A recent report from MWD Advisors takes a deeper look into TIBCO Cloud Integration, looking at its features and capabilities, its principle audiences, and how it is a crucial part of TIBCO’s broader integration capability set.
TIBCO Cloud Integration goes back to TIBCO’s roots — focusing on solving integration-related problems for its customers. TIBCO prides itself on its boosted R&D momentum, with clear investments in cloud platforms and open-source technologies. Both of these come together in TIBCO’s digital integration platform capability. TIBCO’s cloud platform has grown to be a common set of service and account management, and security and administration capabilities that TIBCO has built to underpin a growing portfolio of services.
What makes TIBCO Cloud Integration unique is that it is at the intersection of two development roadmaps. The first is the creation of a multi-capability managed platform-as-a-system (PaaS), as TIBCO Cloud includes case management application development, messaging, analytics capabilities, and more. The second is the creation of an open, flexible integration technology portfolio and iPaaS, which supports the open development of integration apps on-premise, on the TIBCO Cloud, and on “any cloud” (public, private, or hybrid).
Another characteristic of TIBCO Cloud Integration is that it is a platform that straddles two audiences: citizen integrators and integration specialists. Citizen integrators benefit from the TIBCO Flogo Apps graphical design environment to enable non-specialists to be involved in the process of integrating application, platforms, and data sources. Integration specialists can use TIBCO BusinessWorks apps to develop new BusinessWorks integration applications or convert pre-existing application application and deploy them to TIBCO Cloud Integration. Specialists are also offered simple tools to help them model and deploy REST-based APIs. They can also generate “mock apps” that implement those APIs for testing purposes and generate Node.js code for implementing those APIs.
TIBCO Cloud Integration supports a clearly defined set of use cases and provides a space where multiple groups with their own needs can collaborate to deliver on digital integration projects. It is very worthy of consideration if you have a growing need to embrace new cloud services and applications, or are looking for a strategic PaaS investment.
