If you’re watching this space, you know we get a little excited about surveys. We’ve done the State of Zero Trust in 2023, the State of Passwordless, and in a couple of months we’ll present the State of ITDR. But before then, we’ll be sharing proprietary research from the upcoming State of Secure Information Management where we explore strategies to enable secure access and protect sensitive data.

This survey of 300 industry participants and decision makers explore strategies for:

• Enabling secure access
• Protecting sensitive data
• Security to keep pace with the evolution of AI

We’ll share the results in a webinar on December 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. ET/5:00 p.m. CEST. Without giving it all away now, here is a preview of a few key takeaways related to keeping pace with AI:

There's a significant knowledge gap in AI and security that organizations are eager to fill. This presents an opportunity for education and training programs in the industry.

  1. Organizations are at various stages of AI adoption in security, ranging from those just starting to explore possibilities to those implementing advanced AI-driven security measures.
  2. There's a strong emphasis on the human element in security, with many recognizing the importance of training and awareness alongside technological solutions.
  3. The intersection of AI and security is seen as both an opportunity (for improved security measures) and a challenge (in terms of securing AI systems themselves).
  4. Cost considerations are important, with organizations seeking to understand the ROI of AI implementation in security.
  5. There's recognition that AI in security is not just a current trend but a future standard, encouraging proactive learning and implementation.

These insights suggest that the field of AI in security is dynamic and rapidly evolving, with organizations keen to learn, implement, and optimize their use of AI while navigating the associated security challenges.
