Over the course of recent Formula One seasons, seven-time world champion Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team has been the team to beat. The Team exemplifies that to win in F1, you need a stellar car design, an impeccable setup, smart drivers, and an efficient trackside team. Perhaps it’s a sensor typically used in the oil and gas industry, algorithmic data science utilized by insurance companies to dynamically measure risk, or predictive maintenance in manufacturing to reduce downtime In F1, these technologies could be used in places like the wind tunnel and dynamometric bench to optimize car components to improve performance—0.01 second at a time—which can make the difference between pole position 1 and pole position 2.

Before winning championships, you need to win races. But, winning doesn’t happen overnight; it happens over time through a series of trials and tribulations.
