Smart Working
Blog: AuraQuantic Blog
Smart Working is a work model that gives
workers full autonomy over managing their time and place of work.
This work model evaluates the performance
of employees based on objective completion. It is very flexible in terms of schedule
compliance, and without any concern where the work is done from.
In my opinion, there are two sentences that
sum up Smart Working:
Work today is increasingly about “what
we do” and less about “where we do it”.
Sitting in an office or being connected
from home with the company from nine to six no longer guarantees worker
efficiency.
Understanding Smart Working
Nowadays, when companies are recruiting,
they look for profiles with very defined characteristics. They must have
specific knowledge, teamworking skills and the ability to relate, communicate
and lead a project. In addition, they must be able to negotiate, solve problems
and make decisions.
In short, organizations around the world
are looking for talent. But this may not be in the same location as the office,
or even in the same city. You may prefer working conditions that do not force
you to go to a predetermined location.
Technology is transforming our world, and
changing the way we relate, create and deliver value
Now it is no longer necessary to go to the office to do our jobs. Low code tools like AuraPortal offer us all the mechanisms to interact with our customers, team leaders, or colleagues. We only need an Internet connection and some device like a PC, Tablet, or mobile phone to connect.
We have all the mechanisms to coordinate the requests and needs of the organization, and workers as well as generating a work environment that support creativity and innovation.
Smart Working offers us a more result-oriented working model, which frees us from the old criteria that jobs are based on rigid schedules and mandatory presence in the office. It also provides us with a flexible working environment that encourages discovery and breakthrough.
Why Smart Working?
These days many companies are in an advanced stage of digital transformation. But in order to keep moving forward, and stay ahead of the curve, they need to approach their new business models in a more innovative way.
But ‘innovation’ is a daunting term, one that many CIOs and IT professionals know but don’t know how to start. However, this wait-and-see attitude can be negative for the organization that is at risk of being left behind.
Smart working can be a key element in the
process of moving forward with innovative ideas. Innovation is a key element of
business and requires discarding old working models by encouraging others that
promote creativity and commitment from employees.
Furthermore, smart working facilitates the
development of multicultural teams, promotes a culture of collaboration, staff
empowerment and flexibility.
One of the main reasons for adopting
intelligent work models is the work-life balance that impacts the quality of
life of employees.
However, there is another argument that has
a much more obvious impact on the company. Attracting talent is very important
for our organizations, especially if we want to stay ahead of the game. And
surprisingly, it is the organizations that invest more effort in smart work
that have the greatest capacity to both attract and retain talent.
The internet has taken away all barriers
and we must take advantage of all the benefits it offers to be competitive.
