Peer Robotics | MeitY Raise 2020 AI Showcase

Blog: NASSCOM Official Blog

Name / Organization     Peer Robotics Pvt Ltd

Co-founders:          Rishabh Agarwal & Tanya Raghuvanshi

Title of Project  RM100: An Autonomous Collaborative Mobile Robot

Use of AI:

RM100 is an Autonomous Collaboration Robot capable of performing natural navigation in any indoor environment without any infrastructure changes and by utilizing AI based algorithms to understand the external environments and the humans around them. The collaborative algorithms allow the robots to learn from humans in real-time by understanding their external force feedback, changing the way humans and robots work together.

Applications

Sl. No.          Benefits                      Target Market

  1.            Internal Logistics            Manufacturing, automobile, warehousing
  2.            Sorting of Packages       Warehousing, last mile delivery centers

Journey So far:

Started in June 2019, Peer Robotics is currently working along with major automobile players like Maruti Suzuki and manufacturing industries like Siemens and Bosch. The team is working with Qualcomm as a part of the QDIC challenge with a focus towards bringing the autonomous collaborative robot platforms to the healthcare sector. Peer Robotics is incubated with NASSCOM CoE – IoT & AI based at Gurugram and getting assisted with Product development and Co-Creation opportunities with NASSCOM’s Corporate Partners.

About:

Globally, Industries are going through a fundamental shift from predictability to dynamic operations and existing automation solutions are not flexible enough to adapt as per those changing requirements. The key towards solving these challenges is to develop automation that is smart enough to learn from humans in real time.

At Peer Robotics, we believe that the future lies in humans and robots working together in perfect synergy rather than robots replacing humans. Whether it’s the automobile, semiconductor, or pharmaceutical industry, on-time delivery of goods from one station to another is key to productivity.

Gurugram based, Peer Robotics, has developed Collaborative Autonomous robots for warehouse automation and material handling in manufacturing facilities, logistics companies which can seamlessly navigate through complex environments without any change in the existing infrastructure.

Called the RM100, it is integrated with the patented force feedback based mechanism that allows it to detect external human force and activates the drive in the direction of guiding force. Using sensor fusion from multiple onboard sensors, RM100 can localize itself in any complex surrounding, reducing any human effort to provide initial position data to the robot. It has a payload capacity of 100kg. A bot simply doing pick & place has limited functionality but RM100 has the capability that allows mounting of multiple attachments like manipulators, gripper arms, welding torches etc on its chassis to make it multifunctional.

Peer Robotics provides a simulation of the facility with the bot deployed, even before the actual deployment to assess the impact of the solution for the enterprise.

Benefits of RM 100 Collaborative Autonomous robots:

  1. Operators with no experience can program the robots. It takes 1-2 hrs for reprogramming the robots
  2. It is capable of performing multiple tasks like Material Handling, Package Sorting, Visual Inspection, etc.
  3. It is completely safe to work along with humans and 0% investment required in safety infrastructure

Current Deployments:

Siemens: Remote Visual Inspection based teleoperation and movement of CMR robot in the manufacturing plant & substation

Maruti Suzuki: Perform autonomous inventory checking and provide real-time and accurate inventory data

Bosch: Autonomous collaborative robots based Warehouse Automation.
