Oracle’s Infrastructure Transformation: Get an inside look at Oracle OpenWorld Europe

Blog: Oracle BPM

Join us at the Oracle@Oracle Experience at Oracle OpenWorld London to discover the new results we’ve achieved by moving our infrastructure to Oracle Cloud.

Author: Kishan Agrawal

Like many of our customers, Oracle recently undertook a huge transformation in moving our on-premises IT infrastructure to Oracle Cloud, and the results we’ve seen since have been astonishing. We’re now sharing this story with customers and prospects all over the world, in order to help them achieve the same – or greater – results. This is what we call the Oracle@Oracle Experience, and we’re coming to an event near you!

If you were able to join our team of transformers at Oracle OpenWorld San Francisco, you heard the story of how we’ve moved our applications to Oracle cloud. If you joined us in Dubai, you heard that now, we’ve moved our internal systems – applications, data warehouse, and IT infrastructure – to the cloud. Now it’s time for the third stop on the Oracle@Oracle World Tour. Join us in London to discover the newest results of moving our infrastructure to the cloud.

You’ll hear about the benefits of upgrading to the cloud:

Powering our infrastructure transformation have been Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Migrating to our own cloud offered immediate benefits.

Autonomous Database is a game changer for IT infrastructure. We can now deploy and manage infrastructure fully autonomously – that means launching new applications in minutes. Leveraging Oracle Autonomous Database, we now run mission critical applications with zero database administration. This means no human labor, and no human error.

And by moving to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, we’re experiencing significant cost and time savings – as well as increased efficiencies company-wide. To-date, we’ve achieved 2X to 10X performance improvement across our applications, while benefiting from millions in IT cost savings. These savings include both resources required to manage our system and the amount spent on the subscription with Oracle.

On top of that, it previously took months to build a new system from procuring the hardware to the go-live. Now, we have been able to provision systems in minutes, effectively redeploying our resources from operations work to new initiatives.

Lastly, we now have new capabilities in AI, machine learning, and IoT, that we use to unlock new possibilities for our business and provide exceptional services to our employees and customers.
