MattsenKumar Reimagines Learning & Training Paradigms during COVID-19

Blog: MattsenKumar Blog

Earlier 7% of the US workforce used to work from remote locations, ever since COVID-19 was declared a pandemic over 20% of people are working from home. In India, 140 million people are working from home while another 150 million are at risk of losing their jobs.

Coronavirus pandemic has coaxed institutions like colleges and corporates in adopting e-learning tools to impart knowledge and training. Ever since a Stanford study revealed “employees who work from home are 13% more productive than their counterparts working from traditional locations”, organizations were trying to increase their pool of remote working employees. With COVID-19, enterprises had no option other than to let their employees function remotely.

At MattsenKumar we were quick in identifying the growing impact of COVID infections. The Human Resource team in collaboration with the InfoSec team devised a plan that facilitated work from home for everyone quite easily. Taking the initiative forward, the HR & Training team introduced e-learning to keep the learning curve growing.

Highlights of E-Learning Measures taken by MattsenKumar

A Fast Moving Approach to Minimize COVID Impact

Be it isolating employees with travel history or facilitating work from home for everyone or pivoting from offline to online training, we at MattsenKumar turned out to be a Fast Mover. Our alertness helped us minimize the loss of training hours and ensure that all employees received the proper training to fulfill their duties attentively.

Owing to the VUCA world we all live in, our only option here was to get things done ASAP. A robust business continuity plan and a zeal to execute it helped us get our training programs moved from offline rooms to online platforms.

Keeping up with the MK Culture of Learning

The idea of moving training online was well-received and supported by the Leadership and Internal Stakeholders. The leadership team was willing to extend their support to anything required to keep the learning initiatives going. With their immense support and unwavering commitment HR & Training team was able to organize online training programs.

The ability to conduct smooth training sessions reaffirms MK’s commitment to Learning Culture.

Leveraging Technology & Tools to Keep the Learning Curve Moving

With classroom training out of the picture until the team switched its modus operandi to e-learning and enhancing our LMS. The content was modified to keep the online user engaged. The team offers a wide variety of online courses, both job-related and for fun. New content like Productivity while WFH was created keeping the current situation in mind. More focus was on Communication, Effective presentation, Stress, and time management to name a few.

We also collaborated with key-online training platforms to provide self-learning content to our employees. Some of the highlights include:

Ensuring the Well-Being of Employees during These Tough Times

At MattsenKumar we treat every employee as an integral part of the team and we often check on each other. We understand how this pandemic and lockdown can affect mental health. To ensure all employees are coping up with these unprecedented challenges well, we organized online sessions and urged everyone to engage.

These online sessions were meant to help people keep their morale high. The sessions stirred positivity in everyone’s monotonous life and spread the message “we are together in this”.

Final Thoughts

MattsenKumar values the contribution of every employee and the skills they bring to the table hence we never shy away from helping people up-skill. By investing in our employees, we are preparing the leaders of tomorrow.
