We are working on the performance improvement through upgrading our hardware.
What we have done:
Migrated from AMD Athlon 64-based hardware platform to Xeon E3-platformAnd enteprise SATA hard drivesInternet channel upgraded from 100Mbit/sec to 1Gbit/secRemoved part of the workload, such as email reports to standalone servers to offload the main application serversWhat we have achieved
85.5% improvement in throughput, which means that the number of requests-responses almost doubled49.4% reduction of average request-response time, based on the few frequently used responsesMinimum request-response time reduced from 0.22 to 0.11 sec
Maximum request-response time reduced from 3.8 to 2.2 sec
And if that’s not enough, we are working further to optimize the use of database through caching mechanisms.
