Govt of Maharashtra is in the process of adopting a new IT-ITeS Policy, as the term of the current policy is about to end. In this context, NASSCOM and the Government of Maharashtra organised a meeting to discuss the upcoming Maharashtra IT-ITeS Policy 2021, on 25th February.
The meeting was chaired by Shri Subash Desai, Minister of Industry, Maharashtra and attended by Industry Secretary, Maharashtra, CEO-MIDC and other senior officials of the State Government. About 30 senior industry leaders from the IT-ITeS industry shared their views and suggestions for the upcoming policy. Taking IT-ITeS industry beyond Mumbai and Pune, forming and an IT advisory council with participation from Government and industry, separate policies for key segments like Data Centres and Engineering R&D, adopting Model RFP for all IT procurement of the State Government and easing out the constraints in the implementation of the policy were the important themes that were discussed.
