Journey to the Cloud: Deploying, Running, and Connecting Apps in the Cloud

Blog: The Tibco Blog

Forrester surveyed nearly 600 global decision makers on their top cloud strategy objectives and found that 27 percent are looking to migrate their existing workloads into a private cloud and 24 percent seek to build net-new applications in cloud environments.*

A common approach when starting out with cloud is running cloud-native apps in public, private, or hybrid cloud environments. This takes an API-first approach and runs applications on the platform as a service or containers as a service (PaaS/CaaS) of your choice.

For those ready to go all-in with cloud, the core benefit is being able to integrate outside of on-premise. By implementing solutions like integration platform as a service offering (iPaaS), you can move some (or all) of your integration applications to the cloud. You have the ability to leverage your existing design time environment while having the flexibility to deploy to cloud, even if your needs or location changes.

As more IT endpoints move outside of the datacenter, the need for reliable, high-volume, cloud-based messaging will continue to rise. Consider cloud-based messaging if you are leveraging a multi-cloud strategy, creating web-scale, cloud-based applications, communicating with a large number of mobile or IoT devices, or needing a reliable messaging service without all the infrastructure headaches.

We understand that the journey to the cloud is unique based on your organization’s specific needs. That’s why we’ve gathered a handful of cloud experts to help you sketch your own path—whether that’s building a private cloud, deploying in a cloud-hosted environment, or making use of cloud-based messaging. Check out our 10-20 minute Journey to Cloud courses where you can learn cloud methodology from leading industry luminaries.
