Introducing UiPath Integration Service

According to Gartner¹, robotic process automation (RPA) is now the fastest growing software technology market. Gartner’s assessment is based not only on revenue trends, but RPA’s growing reputation for putting robots to work across increasingly complex system landscapes and business processes.

Extending RPA connectivity choices

But, as opportunities for business automation exponentially grow through the mining and re-imagining of new robotic use cases, so grows critical, connectivity challenges with RPA.

For example, an automation might require synchronizing 25 robots across 25, entirely different systems. Considering that a large enterprise has an average of 175 applications², new and more expansive RPA connectivity will certainly create and support greater automation opportunities.

Overview: UiPath Integration Service

UiPath has long led the industry in user interface (UI) automation, as well as providing robust client-side API integration.

Now, with the introduction of UiPath Integration Service, developers will discover an expanded approach to RPA connectivity, enabling faster integrations—and at scale.

UiPath Integration Service seamlessly combines world-class UI and API automation, allowing both capabilities to be centrally accessed within the same integration design environment. This empowers developers to flexibly capture all their automation opportunities—even allowing them to deploy both types of integrations within a single automation.

The power of API is further realized through the deployment of low-code/no-code tools.

Pre-built connectors deliver speed and time-to-value

Integration Service comes with a large and growing catalog of popular, pre-built connectors. Deploying these connectors can significantly simplify integration for any automation process using applications such as Salesforce, Slack, Microsoft Office 365, SAP®, ServiceNow, and Google G Suite. Connector-based APIs also integrate across all product solutions within the UiPath Platform.

Accelerated connection management

Each connector shares a centralized and simplified way of authenticating and authorizing usage across different security protocols, such as Oauth. Once authorized, users can easily create or modify connections to multiple systems. Connections can also be reused across systems.

Powerful server-side event triggers

Automations don’t always start with the robot, but are often triggered by events from other systems. The new Triggers capability allows you to start your UiPath processes by configuring an event such as data updates, insertions or added data, and deletions.

Server-side events might include a new opportunity being updated in Salesforce, a transaction being posted in SAP, or simply, the receipt of an email. Triggers support the ongoing mission of RPA to expand business automation diversity. Playing their own productivity-boosting role, event triggers substantially improve process delivery for order to cash, procurement to pay, order to ship, human resources (HR) onboarding, or even multi-step, email marketing campaigns.

Summary

When robots go to work, they use a combination of both UI automation and API automation. Together, both integration capabilities represent a series of best practices for growing and scaling new process automations.

UiPath has arrived at Integration Service by investing significantly in building the industry’s best UI automation capabilities, as well as API-based, native integrations to any application in today’s market.
