Incident Management as Detailed Collaboration

Extracted from BPMN 2.0 by Example (non-normative OMG document)

We can take a closer look at the ping-pong-game of account manager, support agents and software developer by switching from a single-pool-model to a collaboration diagram.

  1. It is a good process but I think the process has a problem.
If somebody has a question that the question is answered by software developer. The software developer has to send the answer for 2nd Level Support Agent and the 2nd Level Support Agent send the answer for 1st Level Support Agent ……
    Is It so long?!!!

    1. Well, you have to remember that each organisation is different, and therefore the resource and experience is different. Each organisation should be performing operations according to their own resource. This means that there is not a ‘one size fits all’ solution to any given operation.

BPMN is an attempt to rationalise the notation and schematics of illustrating operations so that we can visualise what we do with a view to finding the most efficient way for our organisations.
