Gartner Highlights Intellect as a Leader in QMS Software

Blog: Interneer blog

In November, Gartner released the latest version of their Market Guide for Quality Management System Software, highlighting Intellect QMS 4.0 as a leading solution in the quality management space. Gartner’s analysts noted “extreme configurability” as one of our product’s key assets, remarking on QMS and the Intellect Platform’s capacity to help users easily modify the solution and build new business applications without writing code.

As expected, much of Gartner’s analysis focused on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The report noted that digitization, automation, cost optimization, and increased health and safety concerns are leading to a more intensive focus on quality management than ever before. As business leaders struggle to keep up with these demands, the report continued, “companies are imploring solutions providers to enhance and augment their products.”

Later, the report further emphasized this point, saying that the pandemic has prompted organizations and end users to “demand an unprecedented level of flexibility, adaptability and ease of configuration.” That observation comes as no surprise to us; here at Intellect, we have been focused on extreme configurability since day one.

We’re happy to say that our customers already have industry-leading flexibility and agility with QMS 4.0 and the Intellect Platform. For example, quality leaders at TechData, a distributor of computer technology products, have made the most of Intellect’s extreme configurability with six custom-built apps. They are planning to do even more with the Intellect Platform.

It doesn’t take years of experience and deep technical expertise to implement custom processes with our products, though. BP Aero, which services aircraft engines, is still very new to Intellect QMS, but they have already realized the benefits of extreme configurability. Kristen Orlando, Director of Quality Control at BP Aero, described four custom processes that she implemented within just a few weeks of getting started with Intellect QMS, despite having no background in computer technology. BP Aero and Tech Data both told their stories as part of our Innovate 2020 event. You can click here to access video of the Innovate 2020 event.

The Gartner Market Guide for QMS also noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted companies to reduce or eliminate person-to-person contact, resulting in the increased use of remote audits and a stronger need to move away from paper-based systems. Intellect’s software makes it easy to design and deploy custom workflows to run on mobile devices. That provides vastly improved documentation with a clear audit trail, while making it easier to complete or review activity logs from anywhere at any time. Users can even add photos or other attachments using their smart phone or tablet device.

The Gartner report touched upon another theme several times; that is, the importance of user interface and user experience (UI/UX). The authors noted that “UI and UX continue to be major drivers for user adoption, or lack thereof.” They went on to say that poor design “can have a serious, adverse impact on adoption by casual or infrequent users, and ultimately can ensure the success or failure of the change management components of the deployment.”

QMS only works when everyone understands their role, and can do their part quickly, easily, and with minimal additional training. That’s why we have focused so heavily on good design here at Intellect. Usability is often determined by seemingly simple decisions such as where field labels are located on a screen, or how elements are aligned within a form layout. At Intellect, we understand the importance of good design. To drive that point home, we included several great sessions on effective design as part of our Innovate 2020 virtual conference.

Despite the attention on COVID, the Gartner report reminded readers that the fundamentals of quality remain relatively unchanged, and that effective quality programs are built around a stable framework defined by best practices. Here at Intellect, we work with companies across a range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, aerospace, electronics, medical devices, wholesale distribution, and more. We understand FDA regulations, GxP, ISO standards, and specific requirements across a wide range of industries.

Intellect is proud to be recognized by Gartner as an industry leader in quality management software. If your organization is struggling with homegrown systems, paper-based processes, or inflexible software; we can help.
