Healthcare regulatory landscape in the United States has been continually evolving ever since the HITECH Act, which proposed the use of interoperable electronic health records throughout the healthcare system. Recently, CMS announced MyHealthEData initiative to empower patients and give them control of their protected health information (PHI); this allows patients to share their data with other providers and access it on any device or application of their choice.
