Driving Customer Centricity with Smarter Process at InterConnect 2015
Just a few weeks ago, we hosted our clients and business partners at a brand new event called IBM InterConnect. We were very pleased that we were joined by over 21k attendees, who had the opportunity to interact with our Smarter Process portfolio and team of experts. We had a dedicated ‘Business Process and Decision Management’ stream at InterConnect, with 4 distinct tracks and over 120 sessions along with a featured keynote, a zone in the Expo Center, many 1-1s and meetups and much more. To those that attended, I give my sincerest thanks; and to those that didn’t, we’d love to have you come out next year.
At the conference we launched a new IBM POV on how customer centricity is becoming more crucial than ever and how the forces of Cloud and Mobile as well as Data and the Internet of Things (IoT) are giving organizations the ability to reinvent their business operations and truly succeed with digital transformation strategies.
Take for example Kaiser Permanente, the largest not-for-profit health plan provider in the US. By using our revolutionary in-memory, natural language, act-in-context Decision Server Insights, Kaiser was able to deliver more patient-centric care at their hospitals. With IBM Smarter Process and input from RFID tags, Kaiser is able to:
- Take advantage of IoT data from RFID tags to capture nurse location
- Intelligently process data and events into a business context – such as a specific patient in a cardiac ward
- Identify risks and opportunities based on patient needs – including availability of a particular type of room, current and anticipated room requirements
- Take actions – such as sending the nearest nurse to a specific room where a particular skill set is needed
Kaiser has leveraged some of what we prescribe as the 4 key process imperatives. We at IBM believe that by leveraging our market-leading Smarter Process capabilities, you can:
- Act in context with data, adapting to dynamic market changes as much as 3x faster
- Drive simplicity and speed with cloud, speeding innovation by up to 80%
- Accelerate customer engagement with mobile and social, reducing onboarding times by 70% or more
- Digitize the physical world with IoT, improving efficiency by up to 25%
All these imperatives are key – and only IBM has the products, people, and vision that will uniquely position you for success. In addition to the capabilities like what we’ve seen at Kaiser, we also have some key new functionality in offerings like IBM Blueworks Live (for process and decision discovery and modeling), IBM Business Process Manager on Cloud and new Business Rules and Workflow services on IBM Bluemix that are re-shaping what it means to have an intelligent business process management system.
Looking beyond products, another area you couldn’t help but notice was the strength and size of our partner ecosystem. We had dozens of partners at IC with their own new announcements for extensions to the IBM platform. We are proud to have hundreds of partners building after-market solutions on top of our products and we continue to see the vital role they play in helping customers of all sizes be successful in transforming their business operations.
