Defining the Metadata Model
Conducting the Data Warehouse Requirements Discovery Session

DESCRIPTION

We will provide a simple process and practical techniques for business analysis and requirements elicitation related to business intelligence and data warehousing projects. The definition of the business requirements for analytical processing / decision support systems require different techniques than the process and data modeling used for transactional processing systems. For a BI project, Business Analysts and Project Managers need to identify the business facts, measures and dimensions needed for the data warehouse. Through an easy-to-understand and easy-to-apply process that analyzes and defines the business objectives, usage scenarios, questions and queries, the analyst is able to define and build a conceptual multi-dimension model that will form the basis of the business requirements for the data warehouse and business intelligence system requirements.
