COVID-19 and the Workplace: A Conversation with SHRM and Appian

Blog: Appian Insight

As the COVID-19 pandemic affects organizations across the globe, there are a wide range of factors human resources, legal, and business administration professionals are considering as they examine a return to onsite work.

Earlier in July, I sat down with our Appian Vice-President of Human Resources, Dawn Mitchell and Appian corporate counsel lead, Chris Winters for a discussion hosted by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

We discussed what factors organizations are looking into in order to protect their workforce and customers and stay productive during the COVID-19 pandemic. We also discussed what they’re considering for a tech solution to help make that happen, and Appian’s Workforce Safety Solution as well.

There was discussion around the obvious legal, risk, privacy, and safety aspects that come with returning to the office, as well as the need for mental health resources for both employees, and their human resource colleagues who are currently being inundated with requests.

Take a listen to the playback of our webinar discussion and hear how various industries are handling a safe and productive return to onsite work, and what they want from a solution during these ever changing times. Hear how they’re carving a path forward and how the right technology solution can help ease the process.
