Great post! I think you spot on for the difficulties Tesla has in a proven industry. As far as Musk’s goals, I see it as being an incremental improvement, GM/Toyota produced 357,000 vehicles in 1997. That’s 29,000 odd vehicles a month. As mentioned the goal is to produce a total of 500,000 vehicles or an increase of roughly 40%. The question is: is a Tesla 40% less complex to assemble (less parts etc etc? ) . IF so the goal is achievable and simply a question of getting the kinks out of the system… per Musk’s internal communication memo. I’m no Musk convert, just my take. All the best.
