As head of the WebRatio branch in Ecuador and area manager for the Latin America region, last week I had the pleasure of hosting our CEO Stefano Butti, who visited our installations in Ecuador and spent a few days visiting our network of customers and partners (both industrial and academic) in Latin America.

The journey started on Monday 5/6 from Quito where Stefano visited our new WebRatio Service Center, a specialized WebRatio Software Factory, dedicated to the development of new enterprise-class applications for large customers through the model-driven development approach adopted by WebRatio. He also participated to strategic meeting with Ecuadorian governmental authorities, AESOFT (Ecuadorian Software Association) and our Quito Partner AUCONSIS.

After two days of intense agenda, Stefano moved to Cuenca to visit the WebRatio Business Office, where our Ecuadorian colleagues organized a presentation of the results and big projects developed during the last year. The meeting culminated with a little excursion to Cajas National Park (3100m above sea level).

During the last two days of the business trip, Stefano moved to Guayaquil for presenting, for the first time in Latin America, the work related to IFML standardization, the activity we have been pushing within OMG for standardizing a modeling language for user interaction and user interface development. The event was organized by FIEC (Faculty of Electrical and Computational Engineering) in the ESPOL University. In the same city Stefano met our Guayaquil Partner Targetsoft.

Stefano’s visit allowed to strengthen our collaborations in Latin America and highlighted the strategic role of this market in our business and in the adoption of model-driven software development in general.

These are the comments and impressions of Stefano after his short but very productive Ecuadorian tour:  “I’m impressed by the quality of the work done by our people here, and by the extent of the network we have built in just 2 years of activity in Latin America. WebRatio sees Ecuador, as well as other countries such as Colombia, Brasil, Argentina, and Chile, as a crucial asset for our business and foresees huge market and innovation potentials in Latin America”.

Here some of our customers and partners in Latin America region:

Together with them, we built interesting solution at the B2B, B2C and B2E (intra-enterprise) level, by applying social network integration, social enterprise solutions, business process integration, mobile device support, active citizenship solutions, and many others.

Besides the great work done so far, we have plans for further development in the region and for new and intriguing projects with prospect customers. I will keep you posted on the new results we will achieve along this year, which we foresee as extremely promising.
