Celebrating Customer Service Week – Key to Developing Customers for Life!

Customer Service Week is one of my favorite celebrations of the year! It gives us the opportunity to show our pride in our customer service professionals. If you are like me, there are many times you see an email from a customer talking about the exemplary service they received from one of our team members, and you are proud to be associated with a team that is laying the groundwork for our desire to develop customers for life.Ryan_Hollenbeck_05-12C

At the same time, we are all busy—running to meetings, getting to the next conference call—and we don’t always stop by to say thank you. This is the week we take the time to thank those who are on the front lines serving our valued customers. We know that we would simply not have these valued customers without our customer service professionals. Think of it this way: Customers first, and employees always.

Our employees are the lifeblood of the organization. Walking into the office each morning, I hear greetings between employees with comments about the weekend activities and, many times, the conversation transitions to talking about customers and how they can collaborate to serve them. Often the break rooms and lunchrooms become places where people from all over our building come together to bounce ideas off each other. There is no doubt that our employees help drive our customers’ success.

We also know that in this “Age of the Customer,” many organizations are differentiating themselves with the level of customer engagement they can achieve. They focus relentlessly on what the customer wants, needs and desires—or may desire in the future.

Our own customer experience team here at Verint, led by Nancy Porte, brings the customer voice into the organization, and many areas are working on how they can change systems and processes to serve the customer better. As focused as we are on the customer, we know that our customer experience is provided by our employees. Passion is contagious. When employees are passionate about their work and the customers they serve, customers respond with passionate loyalty and become customers for life!

For now, enjoy this week’s celebration of all of your customer service teams—wherever they are around the world. In fact, I encourage you to stop for a moment and send an email—or visit the customer service team in your area—and thank them for the work they do every day!
