BOC Group: putting customers first in process modelling and architecture
BOC Group is a specialist provider of software tools, consulting and other services designed to help organisations deliver transformation in their businesses through the use of IT. The company was founded in 1995 and has offices in Vienna, Berlin, Madrid, Dublin, Athens, Warsaw, Winterthur and Paris. It currently employs over 180 people.
BOC Group offers a set of tools designed to help clients in four main areas: business process analysis and design (ADONIS); strategy and performance management (ADOscore); supply chain management (ADOlog); and IT management (ADOit). In this report we focus on the capabilities of ADONIS.
ADONIS is fundamentally a business process modeling and analysis tool, but it has a number of sophisticated facilities that move it beyond being a straightforward tool for analysts to use in isolation.
Beyond core BPM, which ADONIS supports through tools for process design and documentation, procedure documentation, quality management, analysis and optimisation, there are five main scenarios that ADONIS supports with specific models and capabilities: risk management, process implementation, compliance management and initiative and change management.
The BOC Group has a business model that’s very customer-focused, and its strategy is based around bringing resources to bear on customer needs first and foremost. 85% of the company’s customers act as references, and 98% of customers are on maintenance contracts (which guarantee access to new versions of software tools).
