Appian Mobile on Federal News Radio

Blog: Appian Insight

Time after time I’ve read the great government posts on our Appian Insight blog, but as the leader of our Federal sales team, I realize I’ve never wrote a post myself, well that all changes today, as I’m excited to tell you all about an amazing opportunity I have coming up.

Next week, on the morning of July 19th I’ll have the pleasure to sit down with Jim Flyzik of Federal News Radio in Washington D.C. to discuss Appian’s Mobile Strategies in Government, along with industry progress and best practices.

This is a subject that’s really important to Appian, and especially to my group that works hand in hand with the Federal Government.

During this broadcast I’ll also be sitting down with Jack Marcellus, Acting Portfolio Manager for the Department of Defense Mobility,  Frank Konieczny, Chief Technology Officer, US Air Force, Anish Soni, Director of Application Development for the Department of Homeland Security-TSA, and Jeff Hill, Deputy Division Chief of Mobility and Remote Access Division for the U.S. Department of State.

We’ll all be giving a progress report on how Federal Government is currently using mobile applications and the success they’ve been able to have. We’ll also be able to touch on the challenges that uniquely face governments when it comes to using mobile, including security, and what’s to come for mobile strategies in the future.

This discussion will go hand in hand with an article Appian recently released, along with Deloitte, on IT Modernization Tips Federal CIO’s need to know. Check it out yourself here.

This piece was organized in wake of the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA) deadline that happened this past April 30.

With that deadline, Federal agencies have been even more closely examining their IT budgets, acquisition processes, and organizational workflows as they tackle transformation and the future of technology.

Mobile is a big part of this transformation, and it’s my hope you’ll listen in on July 19th as we discuss this timely subject. You can listen on their website, or on AM Channel 1500 in the D.C. metro area. If you miss it on the radio, however, check back here next week as well, and I’ll have a link to my full on air interview.

Plus, download the above article on IT modernization tips for a pre-curser to my interview, and let me know when you want to talk about your federal IT transformation by shooting me an e-mail at Chris.OConnell@Appian.com.
