5 Advantages of having a blog on your Website

Blog: NASSCOM Official Blog

According to a survey done by HubSpot, businesses with blogs enjoyed 55% more visitors and 434% more indexed pages than their blog less counterparts.

In its early days, a blog or a web-log was meant to be a platform for self-expression. But now a days, it is the easiest and one of the most powerful tools of sharing professional information on the internet.

There are numerous benefits of having a blog, but in this post of mine, I have compiled a list of five benefits of blogging which are the most important.

#1 It boosts Search Engine optimization

With millions of sites currently available, the biggest challenge for a site is to promote itself, such that it shows up high in search engine searches, and this is one of the big advantages of blogging.

Blog is the perfect way to meet this challenge and boost your search engine rankings.

Search engines like content which is rich in keywords, and fresh in its context. Posting of a new blog results in the addition of new page which is indexed, by the search engines just like the index in a book.

Let me uncomplicate things, if one site seems to have lot of content about a particular subject, then that very site will rank high for searches related to that particular content.

So writing quality blogs improve search engine ranking by reaching more people, which in turn ascends your media presence.

#2 It helps drive traffic to your website

The website is the expression of your business and blog is the medium to convert that expression into a voice that can be heard by relevant people.

Every time you post a blog, possessing relevance to the products or articles of your business, you bridge a gap between target customers and their ignorance.

Thus blog helps to increase your website traffic while improving customer’s knowledge and providing the solution to their queries as well.

#3 Lead generation

As we all know that traffic on a website is useless, until there is some degree of conversion. Blogs convert traffic into leads, as its informative content provides visibility to company’s products and services, which in turn, helps customers to correlate their needs with the offerings of company and make wise decisions.

#4 It helps establish authority

Blog acts like a dialogue forum where one finds answers to his/her FAQs and solution to their problems and queries related to the industry. It establishes company’s expertise and credibility in the eyes of the customers.

Thus, if you’re consistently creating content that helps your target customers, it’ll build trust between you and them and they will accept you as a reliable source of information.

#5 It drives long term results

Last but not the least, blog posting will reap long term benefits. It is an investment towards future growth. The blog posts you make, becomes an ongoing source of value to attract visitors and promote your website.

A blog post, even after getting old, keeps ranking in search engines. That means for couple of days, weeks, months, and years to come, you can probably, get traffic and leads from that blog post.
